First cover addressed to Sydney with a First Flight Sydney to Antarctica 21 February 1979 label affixed. Has a FLIGHT ABORTED 21 – 2 – 79 cachet in blue with a red boxed Flight Aborted cachet on rear.
Second cover has an Antarctic Expedition to the Admiralty Mountains label dated 8th December 1979. Has a red boxed cachet EXPEDITION ABANDONED due to crash of Air New Zealand DC 10 on Mt. Erebus, New Zealand. Unaddressed.
