Description
MacRobertson-Miller Aviation Co Ltd were awarded a five year contract for the North West Air Mail Service on 19 April 1934. A DH84 Dragon aircraft (VH-URW) piloted by H B Hussey and a relief DH84 (VH-URY) piloted by A Affleck inaugurated the service on 3 October 1934.
An accident occurred in Onslow causing minor damage to VH-URW and the mails were transferred to VH-URY which then carried them to Daly Waters arriving 7 October. Cover with Five Pence in stamps affixed and postmarked PERTH 3 OC 34. Backstamped DALY WATERS 8OC34.
