Cover with Five Pence in stamps affixed with a DARWIN N.T. postmark 21 AU 35. Backstamped MELBOURNE 27 AU 35.
On 19th August 1935 Australian Transcontinental Airways opened their Adelaide to Darwin service using the FAITH IN AUSTRALIA (VH-UXX) aeroplane with pilots J Chapman and B Cowan.
The return flight left Darwin on 22nd August 1935 and suffered engine trouble at Daly Waters. A relief Monospar was introduced but this also experienced engine problems and the mails, comprising 25 lbs (Approx 950 items) eventually reached Adelaide on 26th August 1935.
