Description
Qantas Empire Airways DH86A VH-USD Brisbane left Brisbane on 17th February 1937 for Darwin arriving the next day. Brisbane left for Singapore on the 19th landing at Singapore on 22nd.
The AW15 VT-AEF Arethusa took the mails to Karachi where they were transferred to the HP42E G-AAUE Hadrian, reaching Alexandria on 26th February.
The Short S23 flying boat G-ADUY Capella took off from from the Alexandria early on 27th February for Mirabella, Athens, Brindisi, Rome, Macon and Southampton on her maiden return flight. Landing at Macon Seaplane base at 1130hrs on 28th February, Capella was not permitted to continue due to deteriorating weather.
The mail was transferred to a train and completed its journey to London by steamer across the English Channel and Post Office can to the London GPO.
